Today I'll be interviewing Debra Pintley from The Organic Skin Experts. She has a very unique story from raising two children to opening her very own organic skin care clinic here in Campbelltown. So let’s get into it.

After having my first baby Ruby in 2013 the role I had in that company wasn't viable
What motivated you to start your very own business?
I have been in the corporate side of the cosmetic industry for over eight years. After having my first baby Ruby in 2013 the role I had in that company wasn't viable and we made a family decision for me to stay at home with our children. So, for the past 5 years I have been raising my now 2 children, studying and contracting for a high-end skin clinic in Sydney to keep my skills current.
I have always wanted to run my own business and it has always been in the back of my mind. One day I felt the need to check out microdermabrasion machines on the internet and then next moment I was buying one. Once it arrived to my home, I sat it on my dresser and I would see it every day (despite it annoying my husband) and from there energy was in motion.
How long had you been thinking about starting?
For at least a year before then I was too busy studying.

What is your business all about?
My business is about Organic and nontoxic skincare and skin treatments. I live a very low toxic lifestyle and one area I think is easily overlooked because of our desire to achieve a ‘perfect’ complexion, is the toxicity of the beauty industry. I like to look after my skin, but I don't want to assault my skin with toxic products and treatments. How is life now that you’re a business owner?
My business has just started so I’m working hard on strategies to build my client base. I am all about balance, so I make sure I get to my yoga classes and to the gym regularly to keep my mind fresh and that hidden stress at arm’s length.
How have you found using Square Space for your website?
Square Space has been easy to use although I have had assistance from consultant. I use an online booking portal Acuity which has in integrated seamlessly with the platform.

Any advice for anyone wanting to start a business?
Start to meditate and get in tune with yourself. Ask yourself the tough questions and don’t hide from the truthful answers, when you evolve yourself you will release a new energy and use that to push you on your way.
